653 piecitos colorados in 10 schools in Jujuy, Salta, Tucumán, Misiones, Santiago del Estero, Mar del Plata, Mendoza,Bahía Blanca and Chaco.

Pioneer school of the project (2016), 20 children are taught there. 

Characteristics of the infrastructure found: The building had no electrical installations, drinking water or toilets. It has been completely restored.

Current situation:

  • The infrastructures are totally reformed and improved. It has a chicken coop, greenhouse and fully equipped facilities.
  • The students have taken the Art Initiation Course of the Prado Museum. In addition, a project to promote reading has been launched by the Fundación Leer.
  • We follow a Nutritional Guide, as part of the Nutritional Training phase, in which we work for the correct feeding of children. In addition, the center has a sports center, the result of the development of the fourth phase of the Piecitos Colorados program.
  • The musical talent is present in the students of Jujuy, who have a musical group that once a year records a CD with other schools in the area.
  • Currently, it has a scholarship student studying secondary school.
     

Pioneer school of the project (2006), 11 children are taught there.

Characteristics of the infrastructure found: A pioneer school in the project that gave rise in 2006 to a stage prior to Piecitos Colorados involving the patronage of schools. It was rebuilt entirely given that the previous building completely lacked the health and safety conditions required to carry out educational activities.

Current situation:
  • The school has solar panels and an electric generator for any type of emergency.
  • The center follows the Nutritional Guide, as part of the Nutritional Training phase, where they work for a correct feeding of the children. They have an orchard with drip irrigation system, a greenhouse, a chicken coop, library, bedrooms, kitchen and dining room.
  • In order to boost the creativity of the students, handicraft workshops with plants and pastry workshops are developed. In addition, the Art Museum of the Prado was held and they have a project to promote reading by the Fundación Leer.
  • The school has three scholars studying the secondary level and one at university.

Incorporated into the project in 2007, 24 children are taugth there. 

Characteristics of the infrastructure found: The hostel school "Coronel José Ignacio Murga" is built in a mountainous area of ​​difficult access. The center was in very bad conditions, that's why a total reconstruction of the building was made.

Current situation:

  • The school has a sports center for the development of the fourth phase of Piecitos Colorados, the Promotion of Sports. In addition, it has an orchard and greenhouse, chicken coop, fully equipped classrooms, handicraft and weaving workshops, kitchen, dining room and dormitories for boys and girls, since it is a school-hostel.

  • With the help of LAN Líneas Aéreas, students have had the opportunity to take a baptism flight to Buenos Aires.

  • We have a Nutritional Guide, as part of the Nutritional Training phase in which we work for the correct feeding of children.

  • The students have taken the Art Initiation Course of the Prado Museum and a project has been implemented to encourage reading by Fundación Leer.

  • Currently, the school has five scholarship students studying at the secondary level and one at university.

Incorporated into the project in 2008, the 112 children taught

Characteristics of the infrastructure found: The original school was made of wood and had no toilets.

Current situation:
  • The school was rebuilt with noble material, hygienic services in conditions, kitchen and a garden room for the little ones. The kindergarten room has also been inaugurated.
  • We have a sewing workshop and literacy classes for parents.
  • The center has a Nutritional Guide, as part of the Nutritional Training phase, in which we work for the correct feeding of children.
  • The students of the school have taken the Art Initiation Course of the Prado Museum. In addition, a project has been implemented to encourage reading among the youngest members of the Leer-Leer Foundation.
  • In total, the school has four scholarships: three studying the secondary level and one at the university.

Characteristics of the infrastructure found: Building reforms in toilets and the kitchen are required. No drinking water in the area.

Current situation:
  • Piecitos Colorados supports this school in its Educational Phase through the granting of scholarships to its most outstanding students. Currently, they have three talented students.

 

Incorporated into the project in 2010, 115 deaf and hypoacusis children are taught there.

Characteristics of the infrastructure found: Serious problems with the foundations, class rooms and lunch room in extremely bad condition, numerous leaks and cracked walls.

Current situation:
  • The serious problems of the center were solved offering security to minors and teachers. For this, a visual and sound alarm was installed and a fire protection system was installed.
  • Hearing aids and impedance meters * were delivered.
  • The center has a Nutritional Guide, as part of the Nutritional Training phase, in which we work for the correct feeding of children.
  • The students have taken the Art Initiation Course of the Prado Museum. In addition, we have implemented a project to encourage reading by the Fundación Leer.
  • Account with two scholarship students in secondary.

* An impedance meter is used to do ear, nose and throat examinations, the purpose of which is to measure the impedances and resistances of the patient’s hearing system, particularly the middle ear.

Characteristics of the infrastructure found: Bad condition in general.

Current situation:

  • Rehabilitation works were carried out on the entire school infrastructure, building a new kitchen and the computer room. In addition, a multipurpose room and a classroom for kindergarten have been created.
  • Thanks to actions of Volunteering Prosegur, a chicken coop and an ecological vegetable garden have been built.
  • The center has a Nutritional Guide, as part of the Nutritional Training phase, in which we work for the correct feeding of children.
  • The students of the school have taken the Art Initiation Course of the Prado Museum. In addition, a project has been implemented to encourage reading by Fundación Leer.
  • We have four scholarship students studying secondary school and one at university.

Incorporated into the project in 2016, 220 minors are taught here. 

Characteristics of the infrastructure found: The school needs a reconstruction of the entire building: fix the roofs, floors and walls; repair the bathrooms and the kitchen, as well as expand the size of the living room.

Current situation:

  • A multipurpose room has been built at the primary and secondary levels.
  • In the kindergarten sector, in addition to improving the pantry sector and equipping the living rooms, two classrooms and a central gallery have been built.

Ascribed to the project in 2017, it educates 108 students.

Characteristics of the infrastructure found: The building has been standing since 1951 and since then no remodeling has been done so it is very deteriorated. They do not have security measures such as bars on doors or windows. Although they have a kitchen, they still cook in the wood stove. They do not have drinking water, they use water from a very old and precarious hole.

Current situation:

  • We refurbished the bathrooms and kitchen, also carrying out an underground water drilling.
  • External lighting has been placed, a change of exterior openings and a replacement of broken glass in windows has been made.
     

Incorporated in 2018, it educates 95 students.

Characteristics of the infrastructure found: The building is relatively new, but has no maintenance. It's small for the number of students it has. They need more classrooms, they do not have security or clean water. It is a very hot area and does not have industrial fans or air conditioners.

Current situation:

  • An additional classroom has been built and the sewage system has been readjusted
