We have joined forces with the BBVA Peru Foundation to promote reading comprehension in rural schools

Transformative education in rural areas

We recently signed a strategic alliance with the BBVA Peru Foundation to implement its ‘Leer es estar adelante’ (Reading is moving forward) project in four rural schools in Peru, which are part of our Piecitos Colorados Development Cooperation programme. This collaboration, which is intended to develop over the next four years to generate a sustainable impact over time, seeks to improve the reading comprehension of primary school students by offering teaching tools and teacher support.

More than 200 direct beneficiaries

A total of 209 pupils in grades 3 to 6 and 17 teachers from our schools in Arequipa, Cajamarca, Piura and Puno will receive teaching materials, assisted classes and educational advice, guaranteeing the quality of the programme. The aim is to strengthen reading skills from an early age, which is key to children's overall development and academic future

Strengthening reading comprehension from an early age is essential to promote the comprehensive development of children and improve their future opportunities. This collaboration with the BBVA Peru Foundation allows us to accompany students and teachers in this key learning process, reaffirming our commitment to quality education and generating a positive impact in vulnerable contexts. Isabel Sampedro, Managing Director of the Prosegur Foundation

Piecitos Colorados: a driver of change

Our Development Cooperation programme, launched in 2006, seeks to improve the comprehensive education and quality of life of children from vulnerable backgrounds, transforming schools into drivers of change. With 36 educational centres currently affiliated in eight countries in Latin America and Central America, the initiative takes a comprehensive approach and involves the direct participation of the company's professionals to promote the academic development and key skills of students, narrowing the educational and digital divide.

This new collaboration with the BBVA Peru Foundation reinforces its comprehensive approach and its impact on vulnerable communities.
