Yellow Social Month powers ahead in Chile, Colombia, and Peru
Following a remarkable launch that took us through Argentina, Honduras, and Colombia, our "yellow wave" continues its international journey. Prosegur’s volunteer employees are turning our core purpose of "making the world a safer place for 50 years" into tangible, highly impactful actions on the ground.
During this second week, initiatives have arrived all over Chile, Colombia, and Peru. The activities combined hands-on training in key life competencies with physical infrastructure improvements, all designed to foster the comprehensive development of children and youth.
Protection, Prevention, and Growth at the Heart of Our Communities
In this second phase, our volunteers brought their technical expertise and deep passion for service directly into classrooms across three territories. This collaborative effort ensured that safety is addressed from a holistic perspective—spanning physical, digital, and financial dimensions.
Chile: Comprehensive Safety and Digital Future Skills
In Santiago, Chile, our volunteers implemented specialized workshops focused on physical and digital safety, in close collaboration with Kyklos. Through highly interactive and engaging dynamics, children and teenagers from 10 schools in the Comuna de Renca learned how to identify reliable adults and apply effective self-protection protocols.
Additionally, they received practical training in cybersecurity. Volunteers taught them how to create robust passwords, detect malicious threats like phishing or grooming, and manage their social media privacy securely, equipping them with essential tools for the digital era.
Colombia: Secure School Infrastructure in Zipaquirá
At the Piecitos Colorados school in Zipaquirá, our volunteer professionals mobilized to repair and adapt vital physical spaces of the educational center. Together, they replaced worn-out roof tiles, substituted damaged structural beams, and repaired and repainted walls, doors, and windows.
This day of collective effort and shared dedication succeeded in restoring a colorful, secure, and protected school environment. It is now an space where children can safely learn, play, and develop their full potential every single day.
Peru (Jaén): Empowering Youth Through Financial Education
In Jaén, the volunteer day was dedicated entirely to financial inclusion, supported by specialists from Prosegur Cash. Through playful, age-appropriate workshops, students at the 40637 Fernando Belaunde Terry school—an institution proudly part of our "Piecitos Colorados" Development Cooperation program—learned how to build simple budgets and understand the value of saving.
Additionally, they received practical guidance on identifying counterfeit bills, fostering responsible economic management and financial autonomy from an early age.
The Yellow Footprint Keeps Growing
With each passing day, we reaffirm that safety is a comprehensive concept. It ranges from building digital trust to creating and maintaining physical spaces where future generations grow, learn, and thrive.
We still have two exciting weeks ahead, filled with projects centered on fire prevention, social inclusion, and both physical and digital security.
