STEAM Vacation Innovation!

Once again, the Foundation has launched the Winter Experiences: a comprehensive initiative focused on STEAM methodology (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics). During these winter sessions, the children of our employees in Argentina, Chile, and Paraguay traded their daily routine for a vibrant laboratory of creativity and innovation.

The ultimate goal? To achieve a fundamental shift in roles: transforming children from mere tech consumers into their own tech creators.
 

Through play and experimentation, participants explored how technology can serve as a powerful tool to solve real-world problems. The program combined purpose-driven innovation with age-appropriate dynamics, fostering two key pillars from day one: critical thinking and teamwork.

Throughout the program, each country tailored its activities to deliver unforgettable hands-on workshops:

• In Argentina: The younger ones dived into the fascinating world of robotics and basic coding with Robokids. Additionally, the experience was paired with digital safety awareness: a volunteer from Prosegur’s IT team led an age-adapted session on cybersecurity, teaching them how to navigate the internet responsibly and prevent risks such as online grooming.
• In Paraguay: Technological creativity knew no bounds. Children designed and developed their own video games using educational platforms like ScratchJr and micro:bit. They also stepped into the physical realm by building circuits with LED traffic lights, designing alarm systems, and conducting fun science experiments, such as building and testing homemade parachutes to understand physical principles.

One of the most emotional highlights of the Winter Experiences was the closing ceremony, where families gathered to witness their children's talent and achievements firsthand.

Demo Day in Chile and Strategic Partnerships

In Chile, thanks to a partnership with the educational institution Duoc UC, participants experienced an authentic Demo Day. Before their proud parents, young inventors presented working prototypes they had developed themselves. Standout projects included:

• Prevention Sensors: Designed to detect obstacles or risky situations in daily life.
• Backpack Alarms: Electronic devices created to secure their personal belongings at school or on the go.

Meanwhile, Argentina hosted a colorful Project Fair, where young exhibitors enthusiastically explained the code, motors, and logic behind each of their robots.

Through initiatives like the Winter Experiences, we reaffirm our commitment to 21st-century education by equipping our employees' children with the tools they need to navigate an increasingly digital world with confidence, safety, and creativity.

The future is already here—and they are the ones building it.
