The Thread That Binds Us

At Prosegur, a uniform is much more than workwear; it is a symbol of trust and protection. But what happens when that garment reaches the end of its lifecycle? At the Foundation, we have decided that its mission shouldn't end there.

Through an innovative circular economy initiative, we have managed to ensure that our security guards' jackets and trousers continue to fulfill their purpose of protecting others, even if they change shape. Thanks to the recycling of Prosegur Security uniforms, we have transformed discontinued materials into backpacks and pencil cases. These will accompany the students of our Development Cooperation program, Piecitos Colorados, in Uruguay and Argentina along their educational path.

Sustainability with Social Impact

In Uruguay, this project was made possible thanks to a strategic alliance with Ceprodih, an organization featuring sewing and textile recycling workshops that offer training and employment to women in vulnerable situations.

This initiative has not only successfully recovered 97 kg of fabric, preventing it from becoming waste, but it has also generated direct employment opportunities. It stands as an example of how corporate "know-how" integrates with the development of the communities where we operate.

Our Uniforms, Their Future

Meanwhile, in Argentina, the more than 600 pencil cases delivered to the Piecitos students were crafted from discontinued Prosegur Isoc uniforms. The process was carried out in partnership with Cuñá, a social enterprise that promotes the labor integration of women from vulnerable backgrounds.

With this initiative, we reaffirm our purpose to generate a positive impact on the community by integrating education, sustainability, and inclusion.

Volunteering in Action

Our professionals have been the driving force behind this transformation. In both Argentina and Uruguay, our collaborators actively participated in various volunteering days, where they received training on the circular economy and environmental awareness.

Furthermore, during these activities, volunteers not only helped with processing the garments and manufacturing the products, but they were also able to hear firsthand accounts from the workshop beneficiaries.

Later, they took part in delivering the school kits to the different schools, witnessing firsthand the surprised faces of the children as they discovered that what used to protect our security guards now holds their books and their dreams.
